The North Beach redevelopment area includes a 2-hectare parcel of land owned by Communities that is surrounded by four roads (Cromer Way, Sedgeford Road and Mudford and Ellingham streets).

The derelict North Beach site was demolished in November of 2023 to make way for future development and revitalisation of this important location.

A public consultation was opened by the Local Planning Authority – the City of Stirling in early 2024 to received feedback from residents in North Beach to ensure that the community could have their say about the future of the site.

The proposal has now been referred to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage before being considered by the Western Australian Planning Commission.
